Well, I've let another few months go by without a post -- I need to be better about this! We took a couple of trips, one to Santa Fe, New Mexico, and another to Las Vegas, aka Sin City. Had a great time on both trips. In Santa Fe, I absolutely loved the Native American pottery, especially the "black on black" (matte black with shiny black) designs of the San Ildefonso pueblo. Just off the main plaza, there was an amazing clothing store called
Santa Fe Dry Goods --- a lot of really unique European and Japanese fashions. We drove up to Taos for one of the days and visited
La Lana Wools, known for their beautiful plant-dyed fibers. I first met them at one of the Stitches West shows, and because I wasn't able to attend this year (darn work!), I was happy we were able to visit the actual store. I love their fibers --- I've made a cabled sweater using their Phat Silk (wool/silk) yarn, which is so beautiful due to the sheen from the silk. I would highly recommend a stop here if you are in New Mexico!

Our trip to Las Vegas was shorter, but fun nonetheless. We met my parents there, so it was fun to hang out together. We stayed at the Wynn Hotel, which was very luxurious --- would definitely recommend it. I fell in love with the clothing at Brioni --- the construction of the clothing is amazing, with many hand-sewn details and exquisite tailoring. Here's a photo of one of the dresses I kept staring at every time we passed by (though hard to see, it was the stand collar that hooked me):
