Classic Movies for a Warm Weekend

It was a hot weekend out here, triple digits for sure, which meant a couple of days of air conditioning, organic frozen yogurt and a classic movie marathon.

Luckily for us, the Turner Classic Movie channel hosted a day of Hitchcock movies, so we kept cool watching Rebecca, Spellbound, North by Northwest and the ultimate classic, Notorious. I have to admit that, first and foremost, I watch these films for the fashions --- I love fashions from the 1930s through the 1960s. Some favorites are Ingrid Bergman in Notorious (love the hat):



and Grace Kelly in Rear Window (amazing gown):

  4. Wouldn't it be nice if we still dressed that way? Casualness has undone us, I say, as I wear a cool and comfy t-shirt dress and not a girdle.

  5. Holy Cow - don't get me started...back then clothes actually fit real bodies! Imagine that! One of my fav movies is the original "The Women". Edith Head did all the costumes and they are a delight to watch.
