Well, all I can say is that it is a very flattering design and those curved seams are just beautiful (the pattern is well drafted so the curved pieces came together easily). I love how the back slit is offset to the right and not placed down CB like most skirts. I'm sorry about the quality of the photos, but it rained all day today and we were house-bound --- yellowish lights!
So now the length. I made it as-is and pinned up the recommended hem allowance (about 1.5 inches). Here is the original length.
I pulled up the waist a bit above my natural waist as it seemed to fit best that way, so I may need to take some length from the top. The length ends up mid to lower calf, but because of the narrow/slightly pegged shape at the hem, I don't think it looks too bad. It kind of looks retro in a '30s/'40s sort of way, I think.
Here's a version pinned up an additional 1.5 inches.
The below-the-knee length doesn't look so bad, at least not as bad as I originally imagined!
Thank you again for your wonderful feedback --- I am now officially in love with this design and am looking forward to making it in a cool fabric!

I like it below the knee. Glad you went ahead.
I saw your previous post on this and while I had no advice, I wanted to see what you did with it.
The mid-calf is interesting and different, though I can understand shortening it to just below the knee. That's my favorite length.
Cute! The below knee length looks nice.
I love it at this lenght. Very elegant.
Wow I love this skirt. You have done a very nice job sewing that one together...no way I could do this. I stay with my knitting
Have fun wearing that one.
I think the skirt looks good on you. The shorter version is definitely a more flattering length for you. I don't have the magazine in front of me, but I seem to recall that that the dress in that issue, which has the same skirt, was in a petite sizes 17-21 and the skirt alone was in regular sizes 36-44. I remember thinking "that was a clever way for the magazine to provide a petite version of the skirt.” You could lay your skirt pattern pieces over the corresponding skirt pieces from the dress and see if the horizontal sections have been individually shortened or if the skirt was shortened in the bottom area like you did.
This skirt is very flattering and chic. I love the curved seams and the shorter hemline.
