Pattern Magic Volume 1 in English

I just found a resource for the Pattern Magic Volume 1 book --- in English! It looks like the Center for Pattern Design is offering pre-ordering of these books, which are due out by October 1. Both Volumes 1 and 2 are truly inspirational, and in English, they will be more accessible
for a broader audience. It looks like only Volume 1 is being offered at this point, but I would imagine a translation of Volume 2 is in the works. The Center for Pattern Design also has a number of classes (if you are close to the California wine country in Napa/Sonoma) as well as tools/books for sale on their website. Check it out!

A Lady of Leisure ... Not!

Quiet mornings with my coffee and my blogs and days spent sketching, sewing and knitting amazing garments --- for a while, I had these wonderful visions of a new life of leisure. Granted, it would have been an unemployed life of leisure thanks to a corporate acquisition, but that's a minor detail.

Well, the visions never materialized (they never do, do they?) and, in fact, I've been spending many long hours integrating into a new job. Secretly, I was hoping for a few months as a lady of leisure. Yes, it is a very selfish thought when so many people are out of work, but I'm not above admitting it. What a luxury it would be to have all the time in the world to knit and sew!

Anyways, needless to say, the last few weeks have been busy and, while I've made some progress on my knitting projects, my beautiful batiks and Burda patterns have remained untouched. Even worse, I've fallen out of touch with all of you and haven't even had the opportunity to keep up with your wonderful blogs. I'm hoping my life gets back to normal soon --- I'm very much looking forward to catching up!
