I am obsessed -- absolutely obsessed -- with this outfit from the January issue of Vogue Magazine.
The ruffly peplum is so unexpected -- I love it! According to the caption, that amazing peplum is attached to the pants. Not sure I want to make a pair of pants with a big peplum attached, but I wouldn't mind attaching one to a top. The elbow detail on the jacket is cool too -- maybe not the most practical design element, but since when is fashion practical?

I have this magazine but haven't looked at it yet. You are right, a gathered peplum on pants seems... unwieldy. (Imagine trying to go to the bathroom...) But it is a cute look and I am eager to see what you do with it. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is an interesting look. Who is the designer? The picture reminded me of this post in another blog (Chic-steals) I read. A removable peplum a la Jil Sander. www.chic-steals.com/2012/01/diy-jil-sander-gathered-removable-peplum.html
ReplyDeleteJill Sanders was doing a range of skirts like this. It is an interesting look that would suit you. I'd attach the peplum to the top to make the pants more versatile or work it as a detachable overskirt. Unfortunately this style would make me look like the elephant from Fantasia!
ReplyDeleteYes, it seems an odd idea to have a peplum on the pants - but it would be a great outfit to make with the peplum on the top or jacket!
ReplyDeleteHow about a cardigan with a Peplum. Take a look at my video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QMuZYdwD8A
ReplyDeleteThankyou. Tree
